The format

A world tour, not a one-off

No waiting years for one mega fight. Like F1, the league travels from city to city across a season. Every weekend crowns a winner, and any team can win it.

Fight weekend

Saturday: Quarter-finals. 8 teams, 4 fights.
Overnight: Teams repair their robots in an open paddock, in front of fans.
Sunday: Semi-finals, then the final. The headline fight, every time.

The fights

Rounds: 3 rounds of 5 minutes. Finals go to 5.
Breaks: 1 minute between rounds. Quick fixes only.
Wins: Knockout, referee stoppage, or judges' points.

The championship

Points: F1-style, by finishing position each weekend. 25 to the winner, 18 to the runner-up, and down from there.
Title: Most points across the season wins the Heavy Metal League title.
Upsets: One great weekend can take a small team past the favourites.
